PE and Sport Premium
Please read the information below which gives details of our PE and Sport Premium Grant and how we allocate the funding.
Year 3 PE
Year 3 will be learning how to play invasion games and linking them to sports like basketball, netball, football, rugby, and lacrosse.
In net-wall, the children will look at fine motor skills and look to improve on their catching and throwing. Children will learn how to play cricket, rounder's, tennis and badminton.
Year 3 will complete a six-week gymnastics programme where they will look at traveling and balances.
In the summer term, athletics and preparation for our Sports Day are the main focus.
Year 4 will be continuing to work on their team building skills through invasion games and striking and fielding.
Spring term will start with a six-week gymnastics programme where the children will look at balances and sequencing and continuing with invasion games.
Summer term will be preparation for sports day and athletics.
Year 5 will be looking at health and fitness and the links to everyday life and sports performance.
They will continue to work on striking and fielding and invasion games.
In gymnastics Year 5 will look at the relationship between floor and apparatus.
Summer term will see Year 5 prepare for sports day and complete a 6-week athletics programme.
The Year 6 children take all that they have learned from year 3, 4 and 5 and polish their skills in all sports.
The children will analyse their own performance and teams performance and suggest ways to improve.
In gymnastics Year 6 will look to develop and refine all-round technique.
Summer term brings athletics and training for sports day.
We also have at Queens, after-school sports clubs like football, multi-sports, American football, lacrosse, gymnastics, dance, cricket, rounder's and health and fitness
