Access to Technology
At Queens Church of England we are committed to ensuring children have either a tablet or a laptop to use to access their home learning. We are fulfilling this commitment using the Depart for Education schemes and some of our school based technology we currently loaning out. All the equipment we are loaning out has either come with restricted access from the Department of Education or has been set up with our own restrictions to help support your child access the internet safely. If you need further support with technology, you should contact the school office via Class Dojo or your child's class teacher.
Support with WiFi/Data
If you are unable to access the internet at home due to lack of mobile phone data or you have no access to WiFi, we are able to apply for data extensions on your behalf or offer you data packages to use with a dongle. We have also applied to the Department of Education scheme for dongles for those with no access to the internet.
Access Via a Games Console
If you have a games console that is attached to the internet, it is possible to access learning resources using a PS4 or XBox. This can help you to view learning activities on an additional device if you have it.
To access learning resources via a PS4
1. Go to your apps folder to get internet access if you don’t yet have it activated.
2. Go to the internet browser on PS4 (WWW with dots around it):
You can now type in Class Dojo using your controller and then log in to the student account using your letter code on the password letter already sent home.
If you need your passwords resent, please let us know. We will be dealing with these as quickly as we can.
To access learning via an XBox One
1. Go to 'My Games and Apps' in the XBox One home page. Scroll down to 'Apps'.
2. You should see an app that has a white 'e' on a blue background (the Microsoft Edge symbol). This is the XBox's web browser.
When you first open the web browser, there should be a page explaining how to 'surf the web with the XBox One controller'.
You will now be able to search for Class Dojo in the browser and then log in using your normal Class Dojo login.
